Happy Canada Day! On July 1, 1867, Canada was officially born as a nation when the Constitution Act joined three provinces into one country. Over the years, other provinces joined as it became the Canada we know today.

Since its formation, Canada transformed itself into one of the world’s most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations. Canada ranks among the highest in international measurements of government transparency, civil liberties, quality of life, economic freedom, and education.

Canada Day is an opportunity to gather in our communities from coast to coast, and to proudly celebrate all we have in common. Let us celebrate our diversity and our commitment to democracy, equality and mutual respect.
