If you are travelling this week through the Calgary Airport you will be surprised by an exciting new volunteer program that they have launched this past Monday in their pre boarding areas; volunteer dogs to ease the stress of traveling. These new pet ambassadors will spread lots of smiles and love while passengers are checking in for their respected flights and saying goodbye to loved ones. Apparently there are only 39 other airports in North America that have a similar program. The concept is to ease traveler stress and spread relaxation and lots of smiles by seeing and petting these furry ambassadors. They have found that there are many positive therapeutic results from just seeing the dogs and also spending some time with them. The dogs are being supplied by the Pet Access League Society (PALS) three days a week to the Calgary Airport. Manpower welcomes the newest volunteers to the Calgary airport in honor of National Volunteer Week!
