Job Description

Manpower is currently looking to hire a Senior Hardware Engineer for one of their clients located in the Edmonton area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently address all product architecture in a timely manner: design, develop, troubleshoot, support, and maintain products from concept to completion
  • Maintain expertise in new and current technology
  • Develop new and existing products
  • Partner with engineers in design reviews and anticipates future product design specifications
  • Develop IOT including data transfer from sensor to cloud, internet connection accessibility and customer viewing data systems
  • Design and build test fixtures to simulate all data and full functional product tests using automation
  • Develop USB, Ethernet, cellular, satellite and wireless products
  • Design PCL – programmable logic control
  • Develop PC apps for calibration and data acquisition
  • Develop low power designs & embedded software design
  • Design digital and analog electrical hardware
  • Document development deliverables, schedules, and other necessary information, providing progress reports as required
  • Monitor compliance with legislative requirements
  • Define and test requirements and processes to ensure products meets customer and reliability requirements
  • Manage existing products, develop product improvements and lead ongoing enhancements to support customers
  • Identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems
  • Establish and maintain relationships with strategic business partners and key stakeholders
  • Communicate with customers and employees from all staff groups including technical, professional and senior management
  • Interact with customers and cross functional teams inside the company
  • Work with clients to understand business requirements and expectations in order to develop strategic direction for development teams


  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering designation or eligible for registration with APEGA
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering service-based company
  • Excellent Communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Experience with Project management is an asset
  • Able to think strategically and problem solve
