TECHCareers, a Manpower Alberta Program, is a no-cost government-funded training program, offering five programs of study: Data Analytics, Digital Marketing with UI/UX Design and Full Stack Developer, in partnership with SAIT, and Cybersecurity and AR/VR Software Development & Design, in partnership with ReTrain Canada, to provide Albertans with professional skills to pivot into the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) fields.

Programs At A Glance

Data Analytics

  • Receive Data Analysis training and foundation in analytics, predictive analytics tools, probability, statistics, and develop the ability to solve practical problems in business scenarios, answering business questions, and predict opportunities & possibilities (includes Data Analysis and Dimensional Modeling, Statistics using Python and ML, Data Literacy, and Business Analytics).

Cybersecurity

  • Cybersecurity Training For Immigrants is designed in partnership with ReTrain Canada to provide Cybersecurity training to Immigrant Albertans seeking employment in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field with a specialization in Cybersecurity.

Course Provider: Retrain Canada

Program Structure

  • 1 week of employability skills training
  • 12 weeks of technical training
  • 4 weeks of unpaid work experience
  • 3-month access to job placement assistance

Digital Marketing

  • The program provides Digital Marketing training and foundation of social networking, Marketing essentials, Search engine optimization (SEO), and other areas such as Introduction to Digital Marketing, Digital Marketing Analytics, Digital paid media, Content distribution, Website content Management, online Direct Marketing, Web design theory, and UX/UI design.

  • This program provides foundational training in Full Stack Software Development with Object-Oriented programming fundamentals intended for those with some experience in either Front or Back end Development in order to transition into the highly in-demand Full Stack Development roles.

Are you eligible?

Unemployed or Marginally employed (working less than 20 hours/week)

Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 7 or greater

18 years of age or older and out of the secondary school system for more than 1 year

Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, legally entitled to work in Canada

EI eligible, view GOA site for details

Ready, Willing and Able to commit to full time training
