The Career Leap program is a no-cost, government-funded initiative for unemployed, EI-eligible residents of Red Deer and surrounding areas, designed to help participants build in-demand skills, gain practical work experience, and develop the confidence needed to secure meaningful, long-term employment. Through personalized career support—including job search assistance, résumé and interview preparation, career planning, and access to short, targeted training and employer-recognized certifications—the program enhances both soft and technical skills, connects participants directly with employers, and provides a clear pathway to sustainable career success.
The Career Leap program is designed to help participants develop in-demand skills, gain practical work experience, and access targeted training and certification opportunities, all while receiving personalized career support. For unemployed, EI-eligible residents of Red Deer who are actively seeking employment, this program enhances both soft and technical skills, connects you directly with employers, and provides a clear pathway to sustainable, long-term employment.
Includes group-based workshops, individualized coaching, job placement assistance, and ongoing support to help individuals secure employment aligned with their skills, experience, and qualifications.
Allows individuals exploring employment opportunities to discover a new industry sector, or a different area within the sector, by gaining valuable hands-on work experience.
Enables jobseekers to upgrade their skills through industry-recognized short courses, certifications, and safety tickets – all designed to strengthen employability and meet workplace requirements.
Designed to support candidates through the first few months of employment, helping them successfully transition into-and maintain-their new role.
The Workplace Training program is delivered in partnership with employers. The program provides hands on learning through On-the-Job Training and Paid Work Experience giving candidates real world skills that are most in demand, industry exposure, and the confidence to succeed in their chosen careers.
Provides Employment Readiness Support for the job site by offering essential items such as work boots, hard hats, safety gear, and work wear, not limited to – ensuring they are fully prepared to succeed on the job from day one.
Our Job Placement Consultants build networks with suitable employers in various industries. When individuals are deemed ready to participate in full-time employment, they will be connected to the employers in their industry to explore possible work opportunities.
