Training For Work is a no-cost, government-funded program designed for EI-eligible residents of Calgary who are actively seeking employment opportunities. This training program offers short-term skills development through individualized coaching as well as group-based workshops for cover letters, resumes, networking and interview skills.

Funded by the Alberta Ministry of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration.

Calgary Employment Readiness Services

Includes group-based workshops, individualized coaching, job placement assistance, and ongoing support to help you gain employment based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

Allows you to explore a new industry sector, or a different area within the sector by providing you with hands-on work experience.

Allows you to obtain skills for a specific job with a targeted employer or industry.

Available to help you navigate the first few months of employment to ensure you are successful in transitioning into your new role.

The Workplace Training program is delivered in partnership with employers. The program offers practical, hands-on training in real workplace settings, helping participants build the competencies that are most in demand.

One-time Employment Readiness Support helps you prepare for the job site by providing essential items such as work boots, hard hats, safety gear, and work wear, not limited to, that ensure you are ready to succeed from day one.

How Job Placement Consultants Support?

Our Job Placement Consultants build networks with suitable employers in various industries. When individuals are deemed ready to participate in full-time employment, they will be connected to the employers in their industry to explore possible work opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements

  • A Calgary resident

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Unemployed or marginally employed (working less than 20 hours per week)

  • Be Ready, Willing and Able to participate in full time employment
